Order of Malta Lebanon (OML) commissioned AgriDev to provide capacity building and project management of the LLP2. The scope included:
- Developing Vulnerability Assessment questionnaires (n=3) and identify selection criteria to ensure targeted and effective interventions of farmers
- Conducting validation field visits (n=6,340) and impact visits (n=2,750), using Kobo, to:
- Survey and identify 3,170 vulnerable Lebanese farmers (25% women) eligible for support with climate smart agriculture inputs (seedlings, drip irrigation, and organic matter).
- Verify the proper usage of distributed inputs and report any discrepancy
- Identify and coach 175 vulnerable women processors in rural areas to increase their production capacity as part of Nutrition Initiative program, provide GHP, GMP, gender awareness and Marketing trainings
- Validate the relevance of requested production kits
- Verify the proper usage of distributed kits
- Conducting 7 climate smart value chain assessments across Lebanon (fruit trees, olives, oregano, vegetables, beekeeping, keshek, freekeh)
- Carrying out market assessments and feasibility studies to design and initiate 7 agricultural service provision units
- Designing On-the-Job Training intervention for Syrian youth. Survey and identify 265 Syrian beneficiaries (100% youth, 65% women) and provide them with OJT opportunities at Lebanese host companies.
- Providing 200 capacity building sessions to 3,600 farmers on climate smart agriculture practices for various crops
