Rapid Livelihoods Assessment (NPA)

The Rapid Livelihoods Assessment (RLA) in Arsal village in Northeast Baalbeck-Bekaa, Lebanon was prepared by Agridev through a consultancy agreement commissioned by the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).

RLA sought to explore top priority needs in term of programming and policy recommendations to restore (fix what was damaged) and promote (improve resilience) main livelihoods in Arsal. It aimed to help decision makers (municipality, Ministry of Agriculture, etc.) and NPA livelihoods program team to structure integrated context-based interventions responding to the reality on ground and facilitating an enabling environment for sustainable local livelihoods.

In total, Arsal’s RLA interviewed 80 respondents divided as follow:

  • 53 Lebanese: 41 males and 12 females
  • 16 Syrian refugees: 12 males and 4 females
  • 11 Lebanese actors (local authorities, NGOs, etc.)

RLA in Arsal used an integrated approach to collect secondary and primary qualitative and quantitative data that provided a clear picture of the situation on the ground and answered the assessment’s questions.
